Birds are protected by law in the UK — most species cannot be killed, trapped or have nests removed without the appropriate licence. Effective bird control is therefore proofing: stopping birds from nesting and roosting in the first place. Done well, it's invisible from the ground and lasts a decade or more.

Pigeon proofing

The most common nuisance bird across our area. Solutions include stainless steel post-and-wire, bird netting, point-deterrent spikes and electric track. We survey, measure, design and install — including high-level work via our IPAF-certified operatives.

Gulls (herring & lesser black-backed)

Aggressive in nesting season, especially in coastal Cumbria. Treatment usually involves egg/nest management under licence and the installation of flat-roof netting or wire to prevent return nesting.

Listed and historic buildings

We're frequently called out to Cumbrian churches, halls and country houses where pigeon fouling is damaging masonry. Discreet, sympathetic solutions — usually net or wire — installed with full method statements and RAMS.

Clean-down & biocide

Bird guano is a serious biohazard. We provide full sterilisation and clean-down of affected lofts, walkways and air bricks before installing proofing — PPE, ventilation, lawful disposal of waste, the lot.
